This week the students at Seacliff Primary were afforded the opportunity to participate in an incursion which involved students from Reception to Year 7 doing plenty of interesting Maths related activities at various stations.
Although we live in the age of digital technology, it was a terrific opportunity to observe students engaged and challenged with hands on tasks.
Recently, Seacliff Primary staff have had the opportunity to participate in a six-week after hours Professional Development programme in Kimochis. Twenty staff including SSO’s, classroom and Specialist teachers and Leadership attended the sessions. Kimochis = means ‘feelings’ in Japanese.
Hello, we are Alva, Delilah and Harriet. We have shown student leadership by teaching the Seacliff School Choir since Term 2 of this year. Apart from really enjoying teaching the Choir, there have been many advantages in the process.
This week, all students at Seacliff Primary have been enjoying hands-on workshops presented by Mobile Science Education. Receptions to Year 2s have experienced a 90-minute session called ‘How Pushes and Pulls Work’ while Year 3s to 7s have been involved in ‘Our Physical Forces’.
OSHC has been busy over the holidays, with not only our Vacation Care Program but the construction of the new verandah. We also want to introduce our Acting Director, Jodie Reading.
School drop-off and pick-up
Parents should maintain the 1.5m physical distance between themselves and other adults (parents and teachers) at all times, including school drop off and pick up.
Schools may need to gently remind parents using their app or newsletter, or by placing appropriate markers or signage at the school gate.
We’re always looking to find ways to improve learning outcomes for our students. At Seacliff, we are investigating and reflecting on our teaching practice through the ‘Action Research’ approach.
It has been fantastic to finally get work underway on the OSHC verandah extension. The planning for an extension to this facility has been happening over the last few years.
Step 3 – From Monday 29 June, many activities can resume providing government health advice and physical distancing requirements are strictly followed.
