‘There’s no such thing as a child who hates to read. There are only children who have not found the right book.’ – Frank Serafini.
The changing face of the Seacliff school library
At Seacliff, we are fortunate to have an inviting and flexible teaching space, for our school community to use.
The role of a teacher/librarian is to inspire our students to want to read, developing strategies to foster a love of reading and literature for leisure. We aim to provide quality reading experiences that foster reading for pleasure while exposing students to a range of genres and guiding them in their reading choices. It is important to keep abreast of current literacy trends and offer exposure to some of the many literary classics.
Our library is multi-functional and a focal point for student learning. We endeavour to promote the excitement of the written word and provide opportunities for students to use a range of resources and technologies on information literacy – expanding imagination, understanding and questioning as a springboard to a life of learning.
We welcome our new and returning families to the school library.
The Team:
Robyn our teacher / librarian is there on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every second Monday.
