Rooms 5 & 2 – Maths Learning is Fun!

At Reception and Year 1 level, making Maths fun and enjoyable is the basis for creating and supporting students to become Literate and Numerate at an early age.

 At Reception level, the students are developing their understanding of numbers to twenty.  They do this by counting small collections of objects and begin to develop skills in subitizing.

By the end of Year 1 all students need to have a knowledge of Number up to one hundred. Challenging the students with a variety of ways helps them to cement their understanding of various processes and develop quick number recall skills.
