Room 0 share their favourite places to play
This term, Room 0 has been working on a topic of study titled: ‘My Place My Space’. Within this unit the students observe, describe and identify ways they are connected to different places around them. The students identified their favourite areas in the schoolyard, and gave their reasons. Here are some of our favourite play spaces!
“We think the Oval is the best place to play! We love playing on the oval because there is heaps of space. There is a sandpit at the end where you can dig and jump. You can run around really fast everywhere, and you can do cartwheels and handstands. We love smelling the fresh air and hearing birds in the trees.”
“We love playing in the cubby area. You can pretend and make things with sticks and logs. You can learn to cooperate with other people.”
“I love the asphalt best, because there is so much room to just run around!”
“We love playing on the colourful playground. We can slide around and around. The climbing wall is the best part. We are learning to slide down the poles. You have to have good balance to climb. It can be scary but fun!”
“The snake is the best place because you can climb and slide on it. I love the patterns. When the sun shines on the patterns they go really bright. You can relax there too!”
