On Monday, November 1st, the Year 3s from Room 17, (Mr. Schiller), and the Year 4s & 5s from Room 13, (Mrs. Cameron & Ms. Flato-Beckett), visited Art Gallery SA for a guided tour of the Tarnanthi Exhibition of Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art.
At the end of last term, a group of around 22 volunteers from our school community, (parents, grandparents and guardians), supported their children / grandchildren in being trained in environmental care by Education Officer Jeremy Gramp, from Green Adelaide. Seacliff Primary’s Sustainability intern, Amber Mausolf, also attended.
Japanese Hiragana Competition
On Wednesday October 27, a few Year 7 students went to Reynella East College to compete in the annual Japanese Hiragana competition. They competed against 13 other schools in the southern region to see who could read the most Hiragana letters. Hiragana is the first of three Japanese alphabets and has 46 letters.
In Room 2 we have been studying the Chemical Sciences this term. We have been learning to recognise and discuss how things have changed. This is so we can understand that some changes are reversible, and some changes are irreversible.
We had a mysterious package delivered to our classroom. The packaged had a note that told us we needed to solve the mystery of what had happened.
Last Friday, October 15, Seacliff Primary School entered two teams in the School Sport SA Mountain Bike Championship event for the first time (an under 13 team and an under 15 team). Altogether, there were 181 teams from all around SA. The event was located at O’Halloran Hill Recreation Park.
What a night it was, “Stars in the Arena” celebrating 130 years of the Primary Schools Music Festival at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
On the evening of Wednesday 8th September our Seacliff Primary School choir performed alongside students from all across our state.
In Term 3, Room 1 has been learning about how things grow and change in their science unit. We have explored many different living things! We planted beans to document and observe the changes. Students recorded these in our bean diaries, and we were surprised how quickly they grew!
Thank you to all of the family and friends who came to watch us on Sports Day. We had lots of fun! Thank you to the Sports Day leaders, our teachers and Ms Mooney-Doe too!

On Friday the 17th of September we had our year 3-7 Sports Day. We started the day off with great team chants and a fantastic warm up. This continued into our sprints and long distance run before we went into our events. The day was designed by our sports day captains with Miss Mooney-Doe to ensure a successful and enjoyable day for everyone. It involved a range of athletic events, sports, and group games.
Room 16 has been very excited about our science learning this term. Our focus has been on living things, what they need to survive, and their life cycles. We would love to show you our plants, Aqua dragons and Information Reports!
On Thursday of week 7, students in year R-2 had their Sports Day. The day had been thoughtfully planned by our year 6 and 7 captains to ensure a fun and successful day.
