Beach Volleyball Carnival
On Friday the 5th of March 102 Seacliff students in Years 4 to 7 headed to Glenelg Beach to play in a beach volleyball carnival against a range of different schools. It was fantastic to see the excitement leading up to and throughout the day of the carnival. Students had been focusing on volleyball during their PE lessons and had been using their own time to continue practicing with their team.
All teams played a minimum of 4 games before lunch to determine if their team made it through to the finals in the afternoon. Seacliff battled the competition to come home with 4 medals. One silver with our 4/5 boys and three golds with another 4/5 boys’ team, Year 7 girls and a 4/5 girls’ team.
Our beach volleyball carnivals only run smoothly with such large numbers due to the leadership and organisation of our students. Students have to manage their own day by checking the timetable to know when and what courts their game is on and what matches they are delegated to umpire. It was great to see that no Seacliff teams missed a match and were eagerly waiting for their turn to jump onto the court.
It was also great to see students from Seacliff get an early start on Clean Up Australia Day that was on the following Sunday. Pictured below are two students who took it upon themselves to collect the rubbish that had been littered along Glenelg Beach. Good job Luke and Charlie!
Well done Seacliff! Bring on the next volleyball carnival!!
