2021 Staff Farewells
As the year is now drawing to an end, we wish to publicly acknowledge, on behalf of the Seacliff School Community, staff and parents, the wonderful contribution of the contracts and permanent teachers and staff members who have worked tirelessly this year, and over the many years that they have worked for the Department for Education.
Jan Baulderstone has been employed at Seacliff Primary for the past 17 years. She has worked mainly as an Early Intervention Teacher, supporting students in the Early Years, to consolidate their skills with a particular focus on Literacy and more recently as a Junior Primary class teacher. The children have embraced her willingness to support them and loved being active members of her Room 3 learning community. Thank you, Jan for your long standing and rewarding career. What an achievement!
Cathy Stevens has worked at Seacliff for the past 16 years. She has worked with various year levels and was instrumental in establishing our Quicksmart Program, which is an amazing program that has empowered many students with skills and confidence in both Literacy and Numeracy. She has not only supported the students, but also trained various staff and SSOs to further assist the implementation of this program. She is a warm, friendly and collaborative team member who is driven by her commitment to ensure the highest quality of learning for all students in her care, and beyond. Thank you, Cathy for your wonderful contribution to our school.
Paul Knapp is an experienced teacher who has worked with various individual students as well as classes in the upper primary. His enthusiasm and commitment to supporting class teachers and individual students has been truly valued.
Jodie Terry is an SSO who has worked tirelessly supporting numerous students and various programs implemented at Seacliff. Jodie readily supported Lynne in the initial implementation of Seacliff’s TOOSmart! Program. She has always presented herself as a collaborative, friendly and supportive colleague and she will be greatly missed by all.
The Seacliff School Staff must also acknowledge the wonderful programs delivered by the various contract teachers throughout 2021.
Sally Wood has been working at Seacliff for 4 years wearing different hats as both a Japanese and Reception Teacher. Sally’s professional, caring and nurturing approach has been greatly appreciated by children, their families and all of her work colleagues.
Emily Mooney -Doe has enjoyed her two years at Seacliff and is now moving on to a permanent position as a Physical Education/Classroom teacher at Pimpala Primary School. She has had a tremendously positive impact on the school through her dedicated work in PE, coordination of cocurricular sport and as part of the school’s social committee.
It is with sadness that we must also farewell Bianca Palmer and Tim Scott, both of whom have embraced Seacliff Primary and its school values. They have made a valuable and exciting contribution to the children’s learning journey in Rooms 5 and 3 respectively.
Hacela Bou has been employed at Seacliff School to run our I.T. network. She has regularly been inundated with requests from staff and students and has readily supported everyone in a friendly and professional manner. At times, she fixed things so quickly it has almost seemed like magic!
We must also acknowledge the contribution of Steven Wallis, Principal, over the past four years. He has been instrumental in leading a number of significant changes including the development of a School Values ethos and improvement to the school’s Assessment and Reporting procedures. He role modelled a healthy lifestyle and has enjoyed participating with staff and students in multiple events such as cross country, supporting Mountain Bike racing, fun runs and staff versus student sport. He is a driven and motivated leader, who had an open-door policy and always made time to speak with staff and students. We wish him all the best as he heads into retirement.
