Seacliff Shines in Maths Challenge
On the 12th of November, 2 teams of students went to St John’s Grammar School in Belair to compete in a Maths competition. The Year 7 team consisted of: Harveen Kaur, Jaxon Mossop, Cooper Berry and Jordan Rowe. The Year 6 team was made up of: Minami Doubell, Georgie Hunt, Liam O’Neill and Tyler Gillon. We were enthusiastic to participate in an academic challenge against other schools.
We competed in a series of different problem-solving challenges, some of which were: marshmallow stacking and construction, surviving the escape room and quiz night. Our Year 7 team won first place out of 11 teams! Our Year 6 team came 7th! There were different aspects of Maths such as: Sudoku, algebra, fractions and pattern recognition. Team members worked together, using each person’s area of strength to meet each of the different challenges.
It was a great opportunity to represent our school academically, and we are thankful that we had the privilege to go.
