Room 16 – Shapes, Shapes, Shapes!
Room 16 have had a busy end to the term, especially in Maths. We have been learning about a range of 2D and 3D shapes and objects. Have a look at some of our learning.
We have been practicing recognizing two dimensional shapes around the classroom and using some of these shapes to create tangram pictures.
We know how shapes can go together to make shapes and pictures when using the geoboards. Here are some of our designs.
We have also learnt about the line of symmetry. We drew the other half of these pictures. I think we did a great job!
We have been having fun during morning routine, creating tessellations and pictures using the foam shapes.
We can describe different shapes by their features (sides/edges, faces and corners/vertices). We enjoyed creating three-dimensional shapes with matchsticks and plasticine. We were able to make a cube, rectangular prism, and some square-based pyramids.
We have learnt about the nets of shapes and we had a go at turning some nets into 3D shapes. We did it!
