Students shine in Volleyball Unit
At the start of Term 2 we were unsure if PE was going to look anything like it had before. However, with safe regulations in place and classes back to being full, we started volleyball. This unit was modified for Years 3-7 and has been a great success.
Students’ prior knowledge and experience in volleyball determined their focus. Students focused on understanding the basics of the game, tactical play, gaining control of the ball and passing to team members before attacking over the net.
Students have adapted roles and responsibilities to conduct a full duty for the two teams playing. I have been extremely impressed with students who have had prior experience and were confident with sharing their knowledge. They naturally became leaders and gave great advice and support to those who were unsure.
Classes have shown great sportsmanship in a range of ways. This has included honesty, listening to the umpires, including others and supporting their peers. The active sportsmanship on display is testimony to our Seacliff Primary core values and to the students’ genuinely supportive nature.
