Room 6 – Why is Reconciliation Week important?
In Room 6, we have been focusing on Reconciliation. Students wrote a response to the question, “Why is Reconciliation Week important?” Almost all students were keen to contribute their thoughts to the school website and newsletter. Below is a strong sentence from each student’s writing. The students have also been learning about how Indigenous Australians use symbols to tell stories. The classroom display photographed for this article is the work of students telling a story using Indigenous symbols. (Mikaela Kelly – Pre-service teacher in Room 6)
